WNDR is a successful interactive and immersive art museum whose locations had included Chicago and San Diego. The Burgess team was tasked with assisting their expansion into downtown Seattle at a prime location within the Maritime building on the new western waterfront. Given the historic nature of the building, one of the design goals was to retain its historical elements, such as the raw wood support columns and exterior windows. Along with building out a retail space and café for hosting private events, our team worked with WNDR to incorporate flexible walls that could maintain mechanical and engineering elements as they were moved throughout the space to support seasonal exhibits.
