LICENSED ARCHITECT

Burgess Interior Architecture is expanding, and we are looking for a licensed architect with 8-12 years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in TI projects of various sizes, including but not limited to: corporate offices, structure/building renovations, technology, healthcare and retail spaces.

 REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture
  • Licensure in the State of Washington
  • Proficient in AutoCAD 2015 or newer version
  • Strong leadership abilities, and ability to manage teams and projects
  • 8+ years of experience in a commercial design firm, interior architecture experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of building codes, standards, building construction and building structures
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Commitment to responsibility, integrity and accuracy
  • Ability to work well under pressure, manage multiple projects at a time, and often under tight deadlines

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Proficient in Revit, InDesign and SketchUp
  • LEED accreditation
  • Ability to create freehand sketches

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Produce Construction Documents with specifications, elevations, and technical details
  • Interpret and implement the IBC 2012
  • A strong knowledge in constructability and technical detailing
  • Provide quality control review of drawings, technical support and stamp for permit
  • Participate in conceptual design development activities, including making adaptations and modifications and assisting other designers in specific aspects of overall design
  • Perform construction administration duties
  • Provide technical guidance and innovative solutions to resolve complex technical and design challenges
  • Manage project timeline and schedules
  • Lead coordination of consultants
  • Provide quality support and initiative to further overall business goals and objectives.
  • Actively pursue continuous improvement and ease of doing business to meet or exceed customer needs.
  • Run and manage a wide range of project sizes

MID-LEVEL COMMERCIAL INTERIOR DESIGNER

Burgess Interior Architecture is growing and we are looking for an energetic, self-motivated mid-level commercial interior designer. We are looking for someone with 3-5 years of experience who can hit the ground running and has strong attention to detail.

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture.
  • Minimum three years of experience working in a design firm or related experience
  • Proficient in AutoCAD 2015 or newer version
  • Proficient in Revit, InDesign and SketchUp
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project
  • Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to complete tasks with accuracy and with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to consistently meet deadlines, completing tasks as previously defined.
  • Ability to work with integrity, trust and commitment, setting an example for others.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely; both verbally and in writing.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • LEED accreditation or other design-related accreditation
  • Ability to create freehand sketches

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop interior design concepts; prepare specifications and presentation materials.
  • Design and draw interior space plans, elevations, and details.
  • Work with senior level staff to review work for design integrity, accuracy and quality.
  • Participate in conceptual design development activities, including making adaptations and modifications and assisting other designers in specific aspects of overall design.
  • Research materials, codes/specifications as they relate to planning solutions; recommend appropriate selections.
  • Assist with coordination of fixture, furniture and equipment installation.
  • Assist in space planning and programming activities.
  • Provide quality support and initiative to further overall business goals and objectives. Actively pursues continuous improvement and ease of doing business to meet or exceed customer needs.
