Burgess Design is looking for a Project Architect, with a background in interior architecture, who will have the availability and flexibility to work in both our downtown Seattle office, and on the Eastside. We are looking for someone with 5-10 years of experience. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, while working on multiple projects at one time. Additionally, this person must be able to work well in a team environment, as well as individually, and be comfortable working directly with the Client, Project Management and Contractors.


  • AutoCAD 2017
  • Strong understanding of commercial tenant improvements with ability to identify and illustrate value engineering opportunities
  • High understanding of construction


  • Sketch-up proficient, but not required
  • Proficient in local building codes
  • Understanding of local jurisdiction requirements (familiarity with Redmond, Bellevue, and Issaquah preferred)

Burgess Design is growing and we are looking for an energetic, self-motivated mid-level commercial interior designer. We are looking for someone with 3-5 years of experience who can hit the ground running and has strong attention to detail.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture.
  • Minimum three years of experience working in a design firm or related experience
  • Proficient in AutoCAD 2015 or newer version
  • Proficient in Revit, InDesign and SketchUp
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project
  • Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to complete tasks with accuracy and with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to consistently meet deadlines, completing tasks as previously defined.
  • Ability to work with integrity, trust and commitment, setting an example for others.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely; both verbally and in writing.


  • LEED accreditation or other design-related accreditation
  • Ability to create freehand sketches


  • Develop interior design concepts; prepare specifications and presentation materials.
  • Design and draw interior space plans, elevations, and details.
  • Work with senior level staff to review work for design integrity, accuracy and quality.
  • Participate in conceptual design development activities, including making adaptations and modifications and assisting other designers in specific aspects of overall design.
  • Research materials, codes/specifications as they relate to planning solutions; recommend appropriate selections.
  • Assist with coordination of fixture, furniture and equipment installation.
  • Assist in space planning and programming activities.
  • Provide quality support and initiative to further overall business goals and objectives. Actively pursues continuous improvement and ease of doing business to meet or exceed customer needs.
